Concert in Tolo – ZespóÅ‚ Regionalny Hulajniki z Milówki

ZespóÅ‚ Reginalny Hulajniki was founded in 1999 at the Primary School in Milówka. The name of the ensemble was taken from the dialect of the Å»ywiec highlanders, where "hulajnik" means a young shepherd who likes to play. Initially, the members of the ensemble were children from Milówka, but over the years people from nearby towns joined, and the ensemble transformed from a typical children's ensemble to a multi-generational Regional Ensemble.
Currently, the ensemble operates at the HULAJNIKI Cultural and Educational Association from Milówka. The ensemble's repertoire includes children's games, medleys of highland songs and dances, as well as carols and pastorals characteristic of the Å»ywiec region.
During performances, the band presents a genre scene taken from folk tales, enriched with dances of the Żywiec Highlanders:

“Hulajniki” have given concerts in Poland, including at festivals in Nowy SÄ…cz, Kraków, Bukowina TatrzaÅ„ska, KoÅ‚obrzeg and Gorzów Wielkopolski. They have also performed on international stages in Macedonia, Austria, England, Croatia, Italy, Crimea and Sicily.
Every year, the band performs at the Beskid Culture Week and during events organised in Milówka and the surrounding towns. During Christmas, they present carols and pastorals in the local parish church. For 15 years, it has also been organizing carnival balls, the proceeds of which are allocated to the group's participation in festivals in Poland and abroad and further activities.
